We’re stepping up to promote Nidderdale’s fantastic businesses, community organisations, and local events. This has never been more vital for the area. Visit Nidderdale is not a charity though, we don’t receive any government or council funding. Instead, we’re relying on businesses seeing the value of what we do, and joining us on Patreon to help pay for it.
It’s a huge amount of work to run this website, social media, events, and the newsletter. It will always be a work in progress – the website needs keeping up to date if it’s going to remain a useful resource for visitors and residents. We can only keep going with your support.

So far, we have 100 local businesses, charities, and community groups listed on this website, and we’re adding more all the time. No other website provides such a comprehensive directory for Nidderdale. We’ve built a What’s On events calendar – a one-stop guide where visitors and residents can find things to do. Plus, social media accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, to share useful information, special offers, and local events. We’ve also set up an email newsletter to drop Nidderdale news directly into people’s email inbox.
Obviously, all of this is a ton of work! It’s important we’re realistic about how much time, effort, and money is needed to create regular content, organise events, design and print marketing materials etc. There’s a limited number of businesses in our area to share these costs with, but we know times are tough right now so we’ve thought long and hard about pricing.
Business membership is just £12 a month, and only £6 for charities and community groups. We think this offers great value for money. All are welcome to join, providing your business is based in Nidderdale (if you’re unsure, please get in touch). Not just for high street retailers, we recognise there’s a wide variety of businesses based in Nidderdale, including agriculture, tourism, and service industries. We’ll be adding a new section for Internet based businesses in the next few weeks.
There will always be a free basic listing available for every business – otherwise this website isn’t a useful resource – but paid members will get premium listings, including additional text, images or video.
