Cycling Survey

Have your say

Visit Nidderdale has set up an online survey, to help gather feedback from local businesses about this year’s UCI World Championships, and cycle races in general.

Having spoken with lots of business owners this summer, across a variety of industries from hospitality to agriculture, the topic of cycling came up time and again. Although the UCI World Championships were based in Harrogate, many race organisers, such as Welcome To Yorkshire, have used our rural road network over the past few years. For example, Pateley Bridge High Street has hosted cycle races for 5 years in a row, with both the Tour De Yorkshire and UCI World Championships taking place in 2019. As well as the race days themselves, each event has brought with it a programme of road maintenance in advance of the races, and amateur cyclists afterwards keen to ride the routes.

Whether or not Nidderdale wants/needs to become a venue for cycling has been the subject of much discussion at a local level. However, rather than rely purely on anecdotal evidence, Visit Nidderdale aims to put together some useful information which can be fed back to organisers and local councils. Whatever your views, we’d like to hear from your business!
