Welcome To Nidderdale

Based in the picturesque market town of Pateley Bridge, the Visit Nidderdale website is run by local people to help bring you the very best that our area has to offer.

Nidderdale is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and the stunning scenery is surely our biggest natural attraction, with plenty of walks and hikes for all abilities. For those who prefer an easy way to explore the landscape we have How Stean Gorge, National Trust Brimham Rocks, and Stump Cross Caverns; each with their own gift shop and cafe. World Heritage site, Fountains Abbey, is just a short drive away, along with the spectacular Himalayan Gardens And Sculpture Park.

From glamping, to posh hotels, Nidderdale has a fantastic range of places to stay and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our camp sites and B&Bs make the perfect resting place for explorers.

When it comes to food, we have traditional tea rooms, award winning butchers, the best fish and chips for miles around, country pubs with views to die for, and eat-in restaurants offering a variety of cuisine to suit any tastebuds.

Shoppers are in for a real treat. Nidderdale boasts oodles of independent retailers with products ranging from handmade jewellery, original artwork, handblown glass, and clothing boutiques; plus essential supplies for your stay including locally sourced meat and fresh baked bread.

Whether you’re looking for a day out in the Dales, or somewhere to stay while you explore Yorkshire, we think you’ll struggle to find anywhere better than beautiful Nidderdale.
