On Sunday, 9th June, some of Nidderdale’s farms will be taking part in LEAF Open Farm Sunday. This is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to see real farming life, first hand.
Agriculture is a key part of the local economy here in Nidderdale; each farm has its own unique story to tell. Open Farm Sunday is a fun family day out with farm animals to meet, craft activities for kids, farm tours and more. It’s also a chance to hear real insight from the farming families who work hard every day to produce our food. Plus, the chance to sample some of our fantastic locally produced fare of course!
Open Farm Sunday is a national event, set up by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), a national charity helping to bring farmers and consumers together and raise awareness of how farmers are working in harmony with nature to produce good food with environmental care. Visit their website to find out more and learn how you can support them..
