Nidderdale’s spectacular landscape has always been a source of inspiration for local and visiting artists alike. One recent visitor to the Dale, artist Siobhan Castle, came up with a particularly creative way to record memories of her family’s trip to Nidderdale this summer. Siobhan has put her artistic talents to use by creating “Doodle Diaries” of family holidays. This year’s trip to Yorkshire offered lots of opportunity for sketching and a new Doodle Diary was born!
Having spotted her unique take on our local landmarks via her Instagram, the Visit Nidderdale team reached out to Siobhan to find out more about her creative keepsake.
“The Doodle Diaries began in 2017 during a visit to Le Touquet, France. It felt like a great way to create memories for my boys other than just taking photographs.
This year was a particularly good one as Yorkshire & Nidderdale provided us with lots of adventures, beautiful scenery and amazing food! The Diaries have gained lots of attention on my social media accounts.”
Born and bred in Bradford, she studied Art at Bradford College, followed by Design & Illustration in Suffolk. Now living in Ipswich with her Husband and 2 sons her career in art and illustration continues.
Follow her on Instagram. Siobhan will be exhibiting her work at Felixstowe Art on The Prom, Sunday September 1st.
